Cornelius Baker

Cornelius Baker is a highly respected advocate for civil rights and HIV/AIDS policies with over two decades of experience at both local and national levels. In his early career in public policy, Baker served as the first director of public policy for the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA), the Executive Director of NAPWA, and the Executive Director of Whitman-Walker Clinic in Washington, D.C. His contributions to public policy have also led to government appointments under President George H.W. Bush and Washington, D.C. City Councilmember Carol Schwartz. Currently, he serves as the Chief Policy Advisor for the U.S. Department of State, Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and Health Diplomacy. He also holds positions on the boards of several organizations, including the Black AIDS Institute and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
